A custom-built home in the Newton section of Chestnut Hill sold for $6,045,000, making it this week’s priciest sale. But other area big deals should not be overlooked.

A Colonial in Wellesley sold for $4,100,000, while a brick Georgian Colonial in Brookline went for $3,200,000. If living near the beach is more your style, you can also peek at a Shingle Style estate in Gloucester that sold for $3,039,200.
