A 1906 home on nearly half an acre in Brookline topped our weekly tally of biggest sales. The home, with a listing proclaiming that it offers “new owners the opportunity to design and execute a major renovation,” sold for $4,700,000. Another Brookline home, a contemporary, came in second, selling for $3,900,000. A Swampscott residence and a new build in Wellesley round out our list, selling for $2,597,000 and $2,560,000, respectively.

16 Prescott St., Brookline

Built in 1906, this six-bedroom, 4.5-bath home sits on 0.48 of an acre with koi ponds and an English garden wall. The brick and cast-stone property boasts Jacobethan, Gothic, and Tudor architecture styles and offers 11,991 square feet of living space. The property sold for $4,700,000 on Friday, Oct. 5, according to Realtor.com.

This Chestnut Hill contemporary features a heated in-ground pool and patios on a 0.93-acre lot. The three-bedroom, 3.5-bath home offers 4,935 square feet of living space, including a master suite with two walk-in closets and a study. Other highlights include a kitchen with triple ovens, a lower-level suite, a gym, copper gutters and downspouts, and a two-car garage. The single-level home sold Tuesday for $3,900,000, according to Realtor.com.

Offering four bedrooms and 4.5 baths, this 4,602-square foot home, built in 2016, sold for $2,597,000 on Tuesday. according to the listing. An elevator services all three levels of this home, which sits on a half acre a short walk from the water. The home has master suites on the first and second floors, French doors to a bi-level patio, a library, a gym, an office/guest room, and a two-car garage.
