The MBTA charges $2 for parking at Readville Station, which is served by two commuter rail lines. But move into this new town house – or one of its three cousins – and you can walk the half-mile to the station. It’s an Energy Star home with high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, which means even more cash stays in your pocket.
Some town homes have cramped foyers, making shedding boots a struggle. But this one can easily hold a small bench, and there is a closet to store that winter gear and a door to the one-car garage tucked underneath the home.
The flooring throughout much of the unit is red oak stained a light brown. There are six thermostats in the home — including one in each of the bedrooms.
From the foyer, the main hallway sort of jogs to the left, leading to an open floor plan encompassing the dining and living areas and the kitchen. The dining area, distinguished by a five-light chandelier, sits next to sliders to a deck.
The kitchen is an L-shape and features white quartz counters and a white subway tile backsplash. The breakfast counter has a waterfall-edge countertop and offers seating for three. The appliances are stainless steel, including the five-burner gas stove. The solid wood cabinets are painted a shale gray and have soft-close drawers.
A half bath, located between the foyer and kitchen, completes this floor. It has a gray porcelain tile floor and a single vanity with a white quartz counter.
The home’s three bedrooms are on the second floor. The master suite, found in the front of the house, features a double set of windows and a walk-in closet with a window. The en-suite bath offers a soaking tub, a separate shower with a rain shower head, and a floating double vanity with a white quartz counter. The flooring and the shower surround are porcelain tile.
The other two bedrooms are about the same size, and the second full bath has a tub/shower combo and a double vanity with a white quartz top. The flooring is a faux porcelain tile.
A laundry room that can accommodate a full-size washer and dryer completes this floor.
The heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning equipment for the unit is outside, and the high-efficiency hot water heater is tucked into a closet, so all 700 feet of the unfinished basement is available for storage.
The Boston Planning & Development Agency is conducting a review of the project’s site and landscaping plan.
Brian Clinton of Donahue Real Estate Co. in Dedham is the listing agent. An offer has been accepted on this home and one other, but there are two units still available. There’s an open house scheduled for Monday, Nov. 12, from 11 a.m. to noon.
