A Back Bay penthouse with a dome-rivaling skylight topped our weekly tally of the priciest sales, selling for $10,900,000. A six-bedroom Wellesley Colonial followed far behind, going for $3,995,000. A North End condo with harbor views and a six-bedroom Newton home complete our list, selling for $2,945,000 and $2,450,000, respectively.

305 Commonwealth Ave., PH, Back Bay

Offering 4,028 square feet of living space over two levels, this penthouse suite in Thayer Mansion sold for $10,900,000, according to the listing firm, Campion and Company. The three-bedroom home, which sold Monday, boasts a grand curving staircase and a skylight that fills the living and dining areas with light. Other highlights include a 926-square-foot private roof deck with a fireplace and a grill. The property, in a building that dates to 1884, also comes with three full and two half baths, direct elevator access, and two tandem garage parking spaces.
