Twitter is fascinated with this Scituate beach house

Calling all Massachusetts mermaids: Here is your opportunity to live *in* the ocean.

A listing for a Scituate beach house is getting some attention on Twitter for being not only on the beach, but a stone’s throw from the water.

Listed at $929,999, this recently renovated, two-story beach house has an open floor plan, four parking spaces, and sits on a private beach with stunning views all around. The listing, from FC Realty Group, was posted three weeks ago.

“Welcome to the Summer Wind beach house – nearly an acre of private oceanfront property located between Egypt + Mann Hill Beach,” the listing says. “From Sunrise to Sunset come enjoy this breathtakingly beautiful view of the Ocean. Walk thru the front door to panoramic views of the water or step on to your deck and feel that ocean breeze.”

Tim Warren, CEO of the real estate data company The Warren Group, told that a neighboring house sold for $860,000 in November, and the new owners got a mortgage for $688,000.

“It looks like a house on stilts so maybe it’s designed to go with the flow,” he said. “[The property] looks kind of dramatic. … You hear of properties up on the North Shore, the Cape, and Chatham washing away, but I assume somebody knows what they’re doing, right? The town must have given them a building permit … it must have been inspected, it doesn’t look that old.”
