With high ceilings and picture windows, this airy contemporary at 31 Walnut St. in Millis won’t break the bank. The multilevel, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home hit the market on Nov. 18 for $534,900.
A stone walkway leads up to the new wood front door, which opens into a tile foyer. To the left, a short staircase leads up to the living and dining rooms and the kitchen, which share an open floor plan. The space has a beamed ceiling and wood floors, and natural light pours in through windows in the living room and glass doors in the dining room that open to the back deck. The living room also has an electric fireplace to make for a cozy spot on cold winter nights.
“It’s a great place for entertaining,” said listing agent Jennifer McMahon of Northeast Signature Properties. “It’s all open, and you have the vaulted ceiling with the white beams.”
The kitchen has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, an island with a beverage fridge, and updated cabinetry with lazy Susans in the upper cabinets.
Another short staircase leads from the kitchen up to the top floor, which has three bedrooms and a full bathroom. All of the bedrooms have wood floors and ceilings with exposed beams, and the bathrooms come with tile floors, a vanity with two sinks, and a jetted shower/bathtub combo.
The lower level houses a home office and the family room, which are separated by glass-paned pocket doors. The floors in both are a dark vinyl that mimics wood. The bathroom on this level has a tile floor, a standalone shower with a tile surround, and a farmhouse sink.
A glass-paned door opens to a patio and backyard that boasts a chlorine pool with a slide, which the sellers heated with propane tanks they leased. There’s also a pool house. A lush garden sits outside the fenced-in pool area.
“The layout is nice because the pool is off to the left and then you still have a deck and a large grassy area,” McMahon said.
The paved driveway has room for at least six cars, according to the listing.
As of press time, the home had an accepted offer with a contingency but is still being shown.
