If you have ever read an interview about her, watched her shows, or heard anything about Mindy Kaling, it might not surprise you that her home is filled with bright, lively colors.
In an interview and video tour with Architectural Digest, Kaling, the creator and star of Hulu’s “The Mindy Project,” walks through her newly renovated Los Angeles home, which she has lived in for only six weeks. According to Architectural Digest, the home is in the historic Hancock Park and wasn’t easy for her to find.
“It’s one of these places that no one ever leaves. I fell in love with three houses, but I kept losing to these Chinese billionaires who were paying in all cash. I wish I were an Indian billionaire. Finally, I found a house that wasn’t listed — a pocket listing — and I came in over asking,” Kaling told the magazine.
Kaling worked with architects Adrian Koffka and Cynthia Phakos and interior designer Katie Ridder to renovate and restore the home, which was built in the 1920s.
