According to the Multiple Listing Service, the area’s priciest sale last week was an expansive gated estate in Weston with floating staircases.
The 20-room Colonial at 316-320 Wellesley St. has seven bedrooms, seven full baths, four half baths, nine fireplaces, and a six-car garage. Robb Cohen of Engel & Völkers Boston sold the estate on Thursday, Sept. 12, for $6,800,000.
Features of the 20,000-square-foot home include eyebrow dormers, marble floors, Vermont waterstruck brick, Queen Anne chateau towers, and two floating staircases. The residence also offers game and tea rooms and a wine cellar.
Some of the property’s most dazzling features are outside. The 2.8-acre lot has a fire pit, a heated swimming pool, mature trees, rolling lawns, an outdoor kitchen, a tennis court, waterfalls, and a carriage house that was built in 1743. (The main home was constructed in 2002.) The 4,500-square-foot carriage house offers five bedrooms, 3.5 baths, six fireplaces, living and dining areas, a family room, and a two-car garage.
