New renderings have recently been released for a plan to demolish a Leather District parking garage and build a 24-story office building in its place.
The owners of 125 Lincoln St. say the new 625,000-square-foot building would include ground-floor restaurant, retail, and other commercial uses, plus underground parking. There would also be indoor and outdoor space for the public, according to the plans.
Along with the new building, near Chinatown, Oxford Properties Group, through affiliate 125 Lincoln St. Owner LLC, intends to revitalize about 7,500 square feet of space adjacent to the Greenway and Lincoln Street, the plans say. New indoor space, about 7,000 square feet, would be devoted to retail and a public “gathering” area.
“The space has been designed with three specific constituencies in mind: Leather District residents, residents of and visitors to Chinatown, and the residents and office workers who populate the upper floors of the buildings of Chinatown and the Leather District, including the tenants of the Project,” the plans say.
There would also be about 4,100 square feet of retail space on Beach and Lincoln streets, according to the plans.
