If you like beige carpets, galley kitchens, and living like a notorious criminal, boy oh boy do we have the apartment for you.

At just $2,950 a month, this two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit in the heart of Santa Monica is a steal. With a rich history and plenty of character after housing Hollywood inspiration Whitey Bulger for more than 10 years, you won’t find a better place to enjoy a quiet life away from the prying eyes federal investigators. Though you may want to be careful of nosy neighbors in the area – they have a history of tipping off authorities.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the unit is within walking distance of both the Third Street Promenade and the Santa Monica Pier. The previous tenant, at age 81, was said to have walked those popular spots “with some regularity.’’ A younger tenant would definitely be able to take advantage of those same attractions.

The apartment has a rich interior, though not as rich as it used to be when the walls housed more than $800,000, fake IDs, and quite a few guns. You’ll have to settle for lots of natural light, a decent view, and a small, brick fireplace.

Oh, and we can’t forget to mention how close it is to several public transportation options. The various bus routes that run through the area are perfect for that impromptu getaway, especially when unwanted company comes knocking at your door.
