Deborah Berger and Lauren Hamilton of August Interiors designed this as a space where a modern mom with an edgy, rock ‘n’ style can escape the daily chaos of pandemic life, get organized, and feel like her very best self. “This room is meant for rejuvenation,” Berger said. “It’s a reminder to all wives and mothers to grab life by the horns and dream about riding a motorcycle on the beach.”

Art The designers set the mood for the room with this black-and-white photograph taken in Bali that is meant to bring out the inner rebel. (From $165 at houseofspoils.com)

Light This Deco style-smoky rock crystal star pendant is half rock, half roll, all awesome, and even provides light. ($8,500 at 1stdibs.com)

Desk Louis XVI style doesn’t have to feel old. The unexpected blue leather inset on this vintage writing desk takes it to another level. ($4,080 at chairish.com)

Rug Anchor the room with a speckled, acid-stained rug that adds a street vibe while still being pretty. The flat-weave construction is practical for desk chair legs, too. (From $199 at cb2.com)

Lounge chair Every room needs a statement piece. This recliner, inspired by a vintage Hans Wegner design, is both eye-catching and comfortable; it’s draped in decadent Icelandic sheepskin. ($1,499 at interioricons.com)

Desk chair The swooping elegance of this open-back chair exudes sophistication, as does the champagne chenille upholstery. It’s designed by the queen of design herself, Kelly Wearstler. (From $4,990 at kellywearstler.com)

Wallpaper The local design duo behind Patch NYC teamed with Hygge & West to create a screen-printed wallpaper that is unexpected, saucy, and a little bit femme. ($195 per roll at patchnyc.com)

Stool A leopard print drum ottoman adds a classic touch and serves many purposes: footstool, extra seat, and table.  ($259 at theinside.com)

Side table Pull up this little dollop of metal to rest your drink. ($198 at anthropologie.com)

Florals No space is complete without a touch of lush greenery. This arrangement by local favorite Fleuri Designs has a soft palette but enough texture to hold its own against the strong forms in the space. (See offerings at fleuridesigns.com)

Candle Relaxing and empowering, this luxurious tuberose scent will complete your sensory experience. ($98 at nordstrom.com)
