A running list of the cost to rent an apartment in Eastern Massachusetts

Woburn saw the biggest year-over-year increase in rent, according to a report the Zumper real estate search site released Tuesday — with the median cost of a one-bedroom jumping 15.2 percent in December to $1,890.

Malden logged the second-biggest increase (14.9 percent), and Cambridge the third (10 percent). Cambridge, Boston, and Medford, in that order, were ranked the most expensive cities for renters. The least costly were Fall River, Brockton, and Worcester.

The median rent for a one-bedroom unit in Massachusetts was $1,879 in December.
